Tom Reinhiller

Tom Reinhiller, 49, died on Monday, September 2.
Tom was born on June 10, 1964, in Devils Lake, ND, to Merril and Noell Reinhiller. He graduated from Moorhead High School in 1982, earned a B.A. from Concordia College in 1986 and an M.A. in English Literature from Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington, in 1988.
Tom married Melanie Gilbert in Seattle in 1999 and moved to Fargo in 2000. At that time he adopted Forrest Gilbert and in 2001 their son Mason was born.
Throughout his adult life Tom worked in landscaping, in sales, and in the IT field. Tom had a lifelong interest in poetry and music, spending many hours composing lyrics and setting them to music. He also continued his love of landscaping in creating a beautiful yard that gave him hours of pleasure. Tom also brought a Heinz 57 dog named Franklin back with him from Seattle and they mutually adored one another until Franklin’s death in 2012. Tom’s son Mason has been his best buddy all his life, and four years ago Tom met Jessica Pitzel and they both agreed that they were meant for each other.
Tom’s gentle heart and nonjudgmental way will be sorely missed by his parents, his sons, Forrest and Mason, his younger brother Greg, and the love of his life, Jessica.
Memorial Gathering: Friday, September 6, 2013, from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M., in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.
Memorial Service: Saturday, September 7, 2013, at 10:30 A.M., in First Congregational United Church of Christ, Fargo, ND.
