Virginia Fasteen

Virginia Fasteen, 77, of Moorhead, MN, passed away on Monday, July 17, 2017, at Lilac Homes, Moorhead, MN. Virginia was born on September 28, 1939, to R. Tilford and Blenda Knutson Gregerson, in Ulen, MN. She grew up and graduated from high school in Ulen before moving to California for a time. When she returned, she began working at Bell Telephone Company and lived in Fargo. Virginia married Thomas Fasteen on May 16, 1959. They moved to Glyndon, MN, in 1963, where she worked at Glyndon Public School for many years. She enjoyed her time as a Teachers Aid and was also involved in Glyndon Community Education. In 1997, Virginia moved to Moorhead and worked at Eventide as an Activities Assistant, and continued there as a volunteer after retiring. She was also very active in Trinity Lutheran Church, and was a lifelong member of Glyndon Homemakers Group. She loved serving others and did so whenever she could. Virginia will be dearly missed.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Lilac Homes, Hospice of the Red River Valley and the American Cancer Society.

Virginia is survived by her children, Nancy Jo Joel Rinke, Mike Gena Dempsey; grandchildren, Elise, Jacob and Kendra Rinke; step-grandchildren, Ethan Klein, Hannah Isaiah Watson, Micah Klein; and siblings, Joan George Wells, Keith Gregerson and Ruth Berg.

She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Nancy Jean; her parents; and sister-in-law, Judy Gregerson.

Visitation will be Friday, July 21, from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 1:00 p.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church, Moorhead, MN.

Interment will be at Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery, Ulen, MN.
