Virginia Quiggle

Virginia Rose Quiggle, 87 of Moorhead died July 24, 2013 at Eventide Lutheran Home in Moorhead, MN.
She was born December 21, 1925 in Fargo, ND to Emil and Philomena Coster Matthys. She graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in Fargo in 1943 and then attended Business School for two years. On October 24, 1946, after World War II, she married Earl Joseph Quiggle at St. Anthony’s Church in Fargo. They moved to Vergas, MN where they farmed. In 1963, they moved to Moorhead, MN where they raised their family. Virginia worked as a legal secretary for many years until her retirement. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, Brazilian embroidery, and reading. Virginia was a member of the VFW, the Stitching Club, and was a devoted Catholic.
She is survived by her children, Charles Quiggle of Cottonwood, AZ, Sylvia Tim Mehl of Moorhead; Lucy Skodje of Moorhead, and Angela Alan Jacobson of Rochert, MN; 8 grandchildren; 7 great – grandchildren, and three great – great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl; daughter, Margaret; and son – in – law, Robert Skodje.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 AM, Monday, July 29, 2013 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Moorhead. Visitation will be on Sunday, July 28 at Wright Funeral Home in Moorhead and will be from 5 to 7 PM with a 7 PM Prayer Service. The Visitation will continue for one hour the following day at the church. Interment will be at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Moorhead.
