Wallace E. Jacobson, Ulen, MN, died on Friday, October 24, 2014 at Viking Manor Nursing Home in Ulen.
Wallace Elmo Jacobson was born in rural Hitterdal on April 19, 1925 to Willy and Alma Bordalen Jacobson. He grew up and went to country school near Ulen. On May 24, 1946 he married Lorraine Anderson at Eksjo Lutheran Church in Lake Park, MN and they spent their life farming near Lake Park. In 1995 they moved to Moorhead, and then to Ulen in 2009.
Wallace is survived by his wife of 68 years, Lorraine; his son, Russell Amy Jacobson, Lake Park; his daughters, Ruth Kuldip Lumb, Moorhead, Alice John Raknerud, Lake Park, and Dagney Calvin Tollefson, Moorhead; his sisters, Eldora Mjor and Lavonne Wayne Patterson; 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Milo and Herman, sister Jona and grandson Eric.
Memorials are preferred to Viking Manor Nursing Home in Ulen, MN or Hospice of the Red River Valley.
Visitation: Monday, October 27, 2014 from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. with a prayer service at 6:00 at Wright Funeral Home, Hawley, MN. Funeral Service: Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at Eksjo Lutheran Church, Lake Park, MN. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
