Wayne Charles Wicker

Wayne Charles Wicker, 77, of Moorhead, MN, passed away on Saturday, May 13, 2017, at Ecumen Evergreens of Moorhead, in Moorhead, MN. Wayne was born on August 11, 1939 to Olaf and Mary Murphy Wicker in Hawley, MN.

Wayne attended and graduated from Hawley High School. Shortly after graduation, he moved to Seattle, Washington and began working for American Can Company. He was hired to do landscaping, which inspired him to begin his own business as a landscaper and gardener on Mercer Island. Wayne was a quiet individual and had a big heart for his family.

Wayne is survived by his siblings, Albert Wicker, Marion Bergseid, Grace Warnke, and Esther Whalen; and many other loving relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Olaf and Mary; siblings, Roy Wicker, Pearl Lokken, Robert Wicker, Margaret Stone, Clara Fritz, Lawrence Wicker, Gilbert Wicker; and special friend, Robert Hays.

A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at 4:00 PM, at Wright Funeral Home in Hawley, MN with a visitation 1 hour prior to services. Burial will take place at Hawley Cemetery immediately following the service.
