Wilbert Willy August Fischer

Wilbert August Willy Fischer, 83, Moorhead, died Monday, May 16 2016, at Sanford Health in Fargo.
Wilbert August Fischer was born on January 20, 1933 in Moorhead, to August and EmilyFuchs Fischer. He grew up and attended school in Glyndon, graduating from Glyndon High School in 1952.
Willy married Charlotte Bentley on November 21, 1953 at Grace Lutheran Church in Fargo. They made their home in Glyndon, where he farmed most of his life, and moved to Moorhead in 1996.
Wilbert was very involved in the community of Glyndon, and served on the Glyndon Elevator Board for several years. He loved spending time at Big Cormorant Lake, MN and Palm Springs, CA. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, snow skiing, and golfing. He was known for his warmth and witty sense of humor. He loved his family very much.
Willy is survived by his wife, Charlotte, Moorhead; children DaleMary Jo, Glyndon, JanaDoran Thielges, Moorhead, JoelLindy, Eden Prairie MN, and KathyBrad Thom, Audubon MN; brother Donald, Glyndon; brother-in-law Edward Gorrilla, Elk River MN; ten grandchildren Trevor FischerBreana, Samantha GlanzerAndrew Stephanie KappesZachary, Casey ThielgesKelsey, Emily Thielges, Jacob Thielges, Brenna Fischer, Davis Fischer, Larissa Thom, William ThomKerri Motacek; five great-grandchildren Elsie Fischer, Nolan Glanzer, Ellie Kappes, Owen Kappes, and Milo Thom.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Wallace and Darwin, sister Florence Gorrilla, and two sisters-in-law.
Visitation: Thursday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead.
Funeral: Friday, 10:00 AM, Trinity Lutheran Church, Moorhead.
Interment: Riverside Cemetery, Glyndon.
