William Arnold Franklin

William Arnold Franklin, 54, of Moorhead, MN, passed away on Wednesday, May 3, at Sanford Health Hospital. William was born on February 3, 1963, in Lake Charles, LA, to Edward and Joyce Frazier Franklin. William graduated from West Lake High School, West Lake, LA, in 1981. He then attended and graduated from McNeese State University in Lake Charles, LA in 1986 with a Degree in Education. He began his teaching career in Richmond, TX after his graduation before moving to Minnesota.

William was united in marriage to Janice Buschette on October 20, 1990 in Detroit Lakes, MN. They moved to Moorhead in 1993 where William began teaching 5th Grade at Robert Asp Elementary School. While teaching, William earned his Masters in Educational Counseling from NDSU in 1999. William worked for Moorhead Junior High for a brief period of time before being transferred to Horizon Middle School in 2004. He worked at Horizon until starting at Ellen Hopkins Elementary School in January of 2014.

William was a kind individual who was always willing to give up what he was doing to give a lending hand. Helping anyone out, whatever the situation, was a priority for William. He was a positive influence to many in the community and he cared on a personal level for all who crossed his path. He was a man who was strong in his faith and lived out his faith through his actions. William was a dependable man who cared wholeheartedly for his family and was so very proud of his children.

William is survived by his wife, Janice Buschette Franklin; children, Matt Franklin, Katie Franklin, and Andrew Franklin; mother and father-in-law, Lloyd and Edna Buschette; brothers-in-law, Jeff Buschette, and Bob Jacquie Buschette; nephews, Nikolai Wettemann, Jared, Travis, and Logan Buschette; and niece, Sheila Buschette. He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Joyce; siblings, Edward James Franklin II, Johnny Lee Franklin, and Cathy Jean Cook; and brother-in-law, Roger Buschette.

Memorial visitation: Friday, May 5, 2017, from 5:00PM-8:00PM at Salem Evangelical Free Church in South Moorhead, MN, East Campus, with a sharing of memories from 6:00PM-7:00PM.

Memorial Service: Saturday, May 6, 2017, at 11:00AM at Salem Evangelical Free Church in South Moorhead, MN, East Campus. Burial will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be designated to the family benefit at Bell State Bank.
