Tom McDougall has retired on August 31, 2007, following a lifetime of service to the Hawley community. We are grateful for his commitment to serving families over the years and wish him all the best in his well earned retirement.

Tom McDougall has been with Vigen & Wright Funeral Home since 1973. He was born in Ada, Minnesota, he grew up in Hawley, Minnesota, where he graduated from Hawley High School in 1963. He continued on with post-secondary school at Minnesota State University - Moorhead, graduating in 1968. At this time Tom taught industrial arts for a year before being drafted into the service. He served a year in Germany before returning to the United States.

In 1972 Tom received his Mortuary Science degree from the University of Minnesota. Tom owned and operated Vigen Funeral Home in Hawley and Lake Park from 1981 until 1987, when he sold to Steve and Chip Wright, at which time he continued on as Manager of Wright Funeral Home, Vigen Chapel in Hawley and Lake Park, Minnesota. Tom enjoys hunting, fishing, the outdoors, as well as woodworking in his spare time. Tom and his wife, Connie, live in Hawley, Minnesota.
