Steve Wright is the fourth generation of the Wright family to operate Wright Funeral Home. He grew up and attended school in Moorhead, Minnesota, graduating from Moorhead High School in 1977. Steve graduated from the University of Minnesota, receiving is Bachelor of Science Degree in Mortuary Science in 1983. He spent a couple of years working in funeral service in the Twin Cities metro area and returned to Moorhead in 1985.

Steve, his brother Chip, and their father, Edgar, purchased the Vigen Funeral Home in Hawley and Lake Park, Minnesota in 1987. Steve and Chip bought their father, Edgar's interest in 1992 with Steve taking over as president of the firm. Following Chip's sudden death in 2003, Steve became the sole owner.

Over the years, Steve has served on the boards of directors of the Minn-Kota Chapter of the Red Cross, Hospice of the Red River Valley, Moorhead Chamber of Commerce, Greater Moorhead Development Corporation, Fargo-Moorhead Symphony Orchestra and Minnesota Funeral Directors Association Service Corporation, as well as serving on the Church Council at Trinity Lutheran Church in Moorhead, and on the City of Moorhead Charter Commission and the Citizen's Advisory Committee.

Steve and his wife Leann have two grown children who are currently attending graduate school.

Adam Nordin has been a licensed Funeral Director with Wright Funeral Home since January 2006. He grew up and attended school in Thief River Falls, Minnesota, graduating from Thief River Falls High School in 1998. Adam attended the University of North Dakota from 1998 to 2002. Adam graduated from the University of Minnesota, receiving his Bachelor of Science Degree in Mortuary Science in 2003.

Adam worked for Joseph S. Klecatsy & Sons Funeral Service in South St. Paul, West St. Paul and Eagan for two years before joining our staff.

Adam is a member of the Minnesota Funeral Directors Association and the National Funeral Directors Association. Adam, his wife Wendy, and their daughter Wylie, live in Moorhead.

Lisa Grossman has been a Funeral Director with Wright Funeral Home since September, 2008. She grew up and attended school in Fargo, graduating from Fargo South High School in 2005. Lisa attended Southern Illinois University from 2005-2006. Lisa graduated from the University of Minnesota, receiving her Bachelor of Science Degree in Mortuary Science in 2008.

Lisa is a member of the Minnesota Funeral Directors Association and the National Funeral Directors Association. Lisa, her husband Mike, and their two children live in Fargo.

Melissa has been a Funeral Director with Wright Funeral Home since September 2013. She graduated from Moorhead High School in 1987 and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from Moorhead State University in 1992. For the next 17 years Melissa was employed by Clay County Social Services, and she returned to college in 2010 to pursue a degree in Mortuary Science. Melissa graduated from Arapahoe Community College in Littleton, Colorado in September 2013 with an Associate of Applied Science degree in Mortuary Science.

Melissa lives in Fargo with her husband, Rich, and their two sons, Ryan and Wyatt.


 

Nick Sellers, Funeral Director

Nick Sellers has been a licensed Funeral Director with Wright Funeral Home since July 2016. He grew up and attended school in Watertown, South Dakota where he graduated from High School in 2007. Nick attended South Dakota State University in 2007 and graduated in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Minor in Religion. He also attended and graduated from the University of Minnesota where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Mortuary Science in 2013.

Nick worked for Roper and Sons Funeral Home in Lincoln, Nebraska from 2013 to 2016 before joining Wright Funeral Home.

Nick, his wife Renee and their two kids live in Horace, North Dakota.

Bailey has been an Intern Funeral Director with Wright Funeral home since December of 2014. Born and raised in Thief River Falls, Minnesota, he graduated from Lincoln High School in 2000. He received an Associate of Arts degree from Northland Community and Technical College before attending the University of North Dakota from where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2004. After working as a marketing professional in the Phoenix, Arizona area he went back to school and graduated with an Associate of Applied Science degree in Mortuary Science from Mesa Community College in 2014.

Bailey lives in Fargo with his wife, Sarah and their only child.

Pam Larson has been a receptionist/secretary with Wright Funeral Home, Vigen Chapels since 1988. She was born in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. Pam grew up and attended school in Lake Park, Minnesota, graduating from Lake Park High School in 1975.

Before Pam started her career with Wright Funeral Home, Vigen Chapels she, was employed at Carl's Lefse of Hawley, Minnesota, and later with Heather & Company both of Hawley, Minnesota.

Pam and her husband, Curt, have been happily married for 35 years and reside in Hawley, Minnesota. Together they have one daughter Brooke (Chuck) Ames of Hawley, Minnesota and three grandsons, Alex, Reid and Jack. Pam enjoys spending time with her grandchildren and her golden retriever as well as gardening, canning and reading.

Leann Wright is a Moorhead High graduate who obtained her Bachelor's in Social Work and Elementary Education degrees from Minnesota State University in Moorhead. Leann had thirteen years of social work experience before joining her husband, Steve, in working in the family business. Much of her continuing education through the years has focused on grief and loss issues.

Besides raising their family of two children, Elise and Gabe, Leann is committed to community involvement. Trinity Lutheran is their church home, where she has taught Sunday School and chaired the Youth Ministry Team. She is a member of the Bereavement Committee and actively participates as a Circle member and past- President of Trinity Women.

Leann is currently serving on the Eventide Board of Directors and its Executive Committee. She has had leadership roles on Moorhead school district's Community Advisory and Parent Teacher Advisory Committees.

Ron Ritter has been with Wright Funeral Home since 2008. He was born in Fargo, North Dakota. Ron grew up and attended school in Moorhead, graduating from Moorhead High School in 1964. Ron spent 38 years working for the City of Moorhead, Waste Water Treatment Plant until his retirement in 2008.

Ron married his wife Susan, in 1968. Together they have two children, Bill (Cheryl) Ritter of Dilworth, Minnesota, and Jennifer (Jody) Dahl of Shakopee, Minnesota and four grandchildren. Ron and Susan are active members of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Moorhead where they faithfully serve in many capacities. In his spare time, Ron enjoys gardening, riding motorcycle and spending time outdoors.

Keith Larson has been with Wright Funeral Home since 1996. He was born in Hawley, Minnesota. Keith grew up and attended school in Hawley, graduating from Hawley High School in 1953. Keith served two years in the United States Army serving overseas in Japan. He returned to the United States and began trucking. In 1965, Keith owned and operated Philips Oil Company, later named Cenex Oil Company, in Hawley until his retirement in 1989.

Keith married his wife, Kay, in 1958. Together they have two children, Kevin (Pam) of Champaign, Illinois, and Karen (Jeff) of Stanley, North Dakota, and six grandchildren. Keith and his wife, Kay, live happily on their farm in Hawley, Minnesota. Keith and Kay are active members of Hawley Lutheran Church. Keith enjoys spending time with his horses, attending rodeos and always enjoys a good conversation over a cup of coffee.

Dave-Brenna.jpgDave Brenna, Funeral Assistant

Dave Brenna has been with Wright Funeral Home since 2012. He was born in Northwood, North Dakota. Dave grew up and attended school in Hatton, North Dakota, graduating from Hatton High School in 1962. He then attended college for two years before joining the United States Army where he served in Vietnam for a year. After returning home, Dave worked in the retail business for nine years before returning to college at Minnesota State University to finish his degree in Finance and Business Administration in 1977. Dave then began his career in the banking industry, where he served for 30 years at First National Bank in Hawley until his retirement in 2010.

Dave married his wife, Judy, in 1966. Together they had three children, Michael (Jennifer) of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, twins Jason (Nicki) Brenna of Savage, Minnesota and Jeff (Tiffany) of Elk River Minnesota and seven grandchildren. Dave and Judy live on Turtle Lake and are members of Hawley Lutheran Church. In his spare time, Dave enjoys being a broker for Great Hawley Homes, fishing on Turtle Lake and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
