History

Founded in 1881 by A.J. Wright, Wright Funeral Home & Cremation Service is Moorhead’s oldest business. A.J.’s great-grandson, Steve Wright, continues to uphold his family’s legacy and serve the community with the same integrity and dedication.

In 1987, the firm was expanded with the inclusion of Vigen Funeral Home in Hawley and

Lake Park, Minnesota. In 2008, we built a new state-of-the-art facility in Hawley and in 2012 expanded and beautifully remodeled our Moorhead facility. We invite you to view photos of our locations online or come in any time for a tour.

In 2022, Wright Funeral Home transferred ownership to Adam and Bailey Nordin. Still led daily by the friendly faces you’ve known for decades, our locally-owned funeral home and cremation service remains deeply rooted in Moorhead’s history while looking to the future for ways to continue meeting our neighbors’ needs for generations to come.
