Ballestad at Gol Lutheran Church and confirmed September 20, 1936 by Pastor Thompson also at Gol Lutheran Church near Kindred, ND.  After her marriage she joined Hawley Lutheran Church in 1947 where she was very active.  She taught Sunday School, belonged to Circle and Ladies Aid, helped in Alter Guild, made banners and baptismal towels.  She helped put the church paper together and worked on many quilts for overseas.

She loved being with friends and belonged to Muskoda Homemakers Club, Hawley Garden Club and Senior Citizens Club and volunteer worker.  She did some traveling with the Classic Club tours and spent a month in Germany in 1995.

She is survived by one son, Keith (Julie) Hansen and one daughter LaVonne (James) Specht both of Hawley.
