Albert Lewis Sanofsky II

Albert Lewis Sanofsky II, 85, of Moorhead, MN, passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2023, at Sanford Health, Fargo, ND.

Al was born June 14, 1937, to Albert and Eva (Bromund) Sanofsky in Chicago, IL, where he grew up and graduated high school. He served his country by joining the Air Force in 1956.  He was stationed at the Minot Air Force Base and was proud to have been the 17^th member assigned to that brand new base. While in the Air Force, he met Jacqueline Sesslin at Charlie’s Café in Minot where she worked. They were united in marriage on June 13, 1959, at St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Minot.  Albert was honorably discharged from the Air Force in 1960. Albert and Jacqueline made their first home as a married couple in Minot where Albert worked for KG Mens Store. They next lived in Missoula, MT, for a few years where they created happy lifelong memories.  They moved to Moorhead, MN, in 1971, where they raised their two daughters.  Al sold insurance for many years in Moorhead and drove school bus in his retirement.  He and Jacqueline celebrated 62 years of marriage before she passed away on December 6, 2021. 

Al was a long-time member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church where he was a member of the Knights of Columbus and involved in the Cursillo program. He was a founding member of the Fargo chapter of Gamblers Anonymous. He and Jackie spent many years going to their lake cabin over the summer at Lake Audubon in North Dakota.  He enjoyed fishing at the lake, golfing, reading and above all, old movies. He was a quiet man, easygoing and family oriented.

Al is survived by his daughters, Lynn (Darryl) Revier and Allison (Greg) Krieger; grandchildren, Andrew, Kaylee, Emily (Anthony), Erin (Jacob), and Christina; great-grandchildren, Caiden, Conrad, Everly, Quinn, August, and two more expected this summer; brother, Melvin; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jacqueline; parents, Albert and Eva; and granddaughter, Lindsey Revier.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, March 27, 2023, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Moorhead, MN. Burial will be at the Fargo National Cemetery.
