Anita Joyce Olson of Detroit Lakes, died peacefully at home Friday, August 20, 2010, after a brief and gallant battle with pancreatic cancer. Surrounded by family, friends, and the loving care of Hospice, Anita was taken by her Savior to her "mansion over the hilltop". Born at home in Hawley, MN, March 19, 1943, to Agnes Lofgren and Myron Coalwell, Anita grew up in Dilworth and resided most of her adult life in Detroit Lakes. Anita graduated as an LPN in 1980. In addition to her nursing career, she devoted much time caring for her late mother. She was active in Celebrate Recovery as a faithful and beloved participant and leader. She was an active member of the Vineyard Church. Anita is survived by husband, Robert F. Olson; daughter-in-law, Sarita Olson of Fayetteville, NC; and brothers and sisters and their families: Marge Larry Morris of Moorhead, Janice Larry Oltman of Wadena; Jerry Bea Coalwell of Dilworth; Loren Connie Coalwell of Wahpeton, ND; Lyle Debbie Coalwell of Villa Ricca, GA; James Lois Coalwell of Oceano, CA; Steven Karn Coalwell of Oxnard, CA; Lauri Jim Dawson of Ventura, CA; Sandy Ron Hendricksen of Moorhead; Della Coalwell of Northridge, CA; and longtime friend, JoAnn Dick Bueckers of Detroit Lakes. She is preceded in death by her son, Robert J. Olson and granddaughter, Blair Lynn Olson; her parents, Agnes and Myron Coalwell, and a brother, Richard Coalwell. Donations in memorium may be designated for Hospice of the Red River Valley; Celebration Recovery, or staff events at Sunnyside Care Center. Anita's family wishes to thank the amazing local Hospice personnel and all the loving friends that surrounded Anita and made this difficult farewell an event filled with blessed peace and miracles.
