Anita Ann Sunde

Anita Ann Sunde (Meester), 53, Dilworth, MN passed away on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at Sanford Health Fargo ND after a 14-month battle with small cell lung cancer.

Anita was born on December 15^th, 1969 in Fargo, ND.  The daughter of Anneus and Marj Meester (Bommersbach).  Anita spent her early years in Cooperstown, ND, until moving to West Fargo where she graduated from High School in 1988.  She then graduated from North Dakota State University in 1992 and received her law degree from the University of North Dakota in 1995. She devoted her career to helping others; ending her career at Kodak Law based out of Pittsburg, PA, where she represented US Bank in the state of Minnesota. She was a member of the American Inns of Court.

Anita and James (Jim) Herbert Flatt were married September 18^th of 1993 till 2001 when Jim passed. Anita married Tim Sunde December 30, 2006.

Anita enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.  Her greatest pride was her children Josiah and Megan.  Anita was surrounded by her family, “Warrior Sisters” who walked with her through her cancer journey, along with her husband Tim that was with her every step of the way.

Anita is survived by her husband, Tim Sunde of Dilworth; son, Josiah Flatt of Dilworth; daughter, Megan Flatt of Dilworth; mother, Marj Meester of Horace ND; step sons, Cody (Angie) Sunde (Tate and Keelie) of West Fargo, Tylor (Sheena) Sunde (Tyeson and Lilli) of West Fargo; step daughter, Bobbi (Reed) Treadwell (Logan) of AZ; her three brothers, Derry (Deb) Meester of Reynolds, ND, Terry (Carolyn) Meester of Reile’s Acres, ND, Marlo (Sheri) Meester of West Fargo, ND; and sister, Mona (Frank) Friedmann of Mendota Heights, MN; as well as many nieces, nephews and her beloved dog Jack.

Anita was preceded in death by her first husband, Jim Flatt; her father, Anneus Meester; and Herbert and Stella Flatt.

Our family wishes to thank Roger Maris Cancer Center, Dr. Daniel Almquist and Dr. Sommer Nurkic for their compassionate care. 

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, October 7^th at 2 pm with visitation 2 hours prior at Dilworth Lutheran Church, Dilworth.  Live stream available at Wright Funeral Home.  Memorials can be made to Anita's family.
