Annemarie Jacobson

AnneMarie (Böhm) Jacobson, 79, of Detroit Lakes, MN, passed away on Monday, January 10, 2022, at Sanford Health Hospital, Fargo, ND.

AnneMarie was born on October 30, 1942, to George and Sophia (Hartig) Böhm in Romania. At the age of 3, George passed away and Sophia remarried John Abaz. After surviving the holocaust, the family moved to the United States with the help of Lutheran Social Services. The family made their way to Moorhead, MN, where AnneMarie attended Moorhead schools and she graduated from Moorhead High School.

AnneMarie was united in marriage to Robert Jacobson on August 12, 1961, in Moorhead, MN, and together they raised a family in Moorhead. AnnMarie worked at Concordia College in the Plant Maintenance Department. After her retirement, she and Robert moved to Sybil Lake in Vergas, MN. She continued working as a janitor in Frazee Schools and later at the Deli in Central Market, Detroit Lakes where she worked until her passing.

AnneMarie enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and crafting. Above all else, she loved her grandchildren.

AnneMarie is survived by her children, Sandra (Dan) Vareberg, Steve Jacobson, Carol (Robert) Langer, and Cathleen (Clifford) Moe; grandchildren, Dana, Alicia (James), Amber (Cory), Kaylee, Brooke, Brittney (Matt), April, Joseph, Christine (Orien), Elizabeth (Jay), Rebecca, and Jonathan; 26 great-grandchildren; and many other loving relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert; parents; and sisters, Hildegaard and Christine.

Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. followed by the prayer service at 7:00 P.M., Thursday, January 20, 2022, at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN. Visitation will continue from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 A.M., Friday, January 21, 2022, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Moorhead, MN. Masks are required for the service. Burial will be at Moorhead Memorial Gardens, Moorhead, MN, following the service.
