Arlys Junelle Dollerschell, 87, died in Flagstaff, Ariz., Nov. 28, 2024, after a brief illness and long, fulfilling life.
Arlys was born May 20, 1937, at the Engen Family home in Hawley, Minn., to Selvin and Edna Engen. She was proud of her strong Scandinavian roots and fondly remembered her time on the family farm.
She graduated from Barnesville High School in 1954, married and started a family with Stephen Prieb. They later moved to Southern California where Arlys earned a master’s degree in child psychology from San Diego State University.
The family relocated to Big Lake, Minn., where Arlys served the Cambridge Public School System as a child psychologist for several years.
Arlys found her permanent home in Flagstaff in 1977 where she married Daynor Dollerschell. Here, she earned her real estate license, and embarked on a career that would span nearly 50 years. While spearheading Santa Fe Realty in downtown Flagstaff since 1986, Arlys continued her passion for helping people, and always treated everyone who came through her office with kindness and respect.
She is preceded in death by her parents and brothers Orrin and Ronald. She is survived by her brother Vernon, children Richard (Jan), Dawn (Greg), and Laurie (Steve), stepson Dayna (Cheryl), nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 6, 2024, at 2:00 PM with a visitation one hour before the service at Hegland Lutheran Church, rural Hawley, MN.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Memorial services will be held in Flagstaff Jan. 10, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Norvel Owens Mortuary.
