Arthur “Art” Gordon Daline, 78, was born on May 1, 1945. He was named after his uncle Arthur who died in WWII a month before he was born. Art passed away on April 12, 2024, from Primary Progressive Aphasia/Alzheimer's Disease at Lilac Homes in Moorhead, MN.
Art is preceded in death by his brother Thomas Daline (4/4/24), stepfather Hector Olson, mother Ruth Olson, and father Malvin Daline. Art is survived by his daughter Angela (Daline) Swenson, son-in- law Fritz Swenson, and three grandchildren: Fritjof, Axel, and Cleo Swenson. Art is survived by his sister Sandy (Olson) Herrmann and husband Tom; brother Daniel Daline and wife Trudy; and sister -in- law Mary Daline, wife of Thomas Daline. Art is also survived by his long-time companion and ex-wife Cecilia Nistler, ex-wife Mary Ellen Groves, and ex-wife Mary Jo Bakken-Andrew.
Art was born in Minneapolis and moved to Madison, MN when he was 10 years old with his two brothers, mother, and stepfather. His sister Sandy was born when Art was in high school. After high school, Art moved to Minneapolis, MN and went to business school to learn accounting and met his best friend, Rollie. During this time, Art got married, became a father, and joined the Army National Guard during the Viet Nam era.
Art moved to CA to follow his daughter when she was 8 years old, so he could be near her as she grew up. His daughter is forever grateful that he left his successful professional life and family in MN to be near her. Art was a Certified Public Accountant and had his own business for over 30 years in CA. Art loved to work hard and be healthy. He loved to play golf all his life and he was an athletic person. He loved to hike, bike, waterski, and swim. Before he got sick, he learned to play pickle ball. He loved his cats and walking his daughter’s dog, Jack. He and Jack were best friends.
Art was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. Family and friends meant the world to him. Dad, you are missed so very much!
