Arthur Berthold “Art” Dux

Arthur Berthold “Art” Dux, 82, of Lake Park, MN, passed away on Friday, May 13, 2022, at Sanford Medical Center, Fargo, ND.

Art was born on May 16, 1939, in Hilsboro, ND, to Berthold and Lena (Merganthal) Dux. The family moved to Moorhead, MN, where Art attended and graduated from Moorhead High School. He also attended Moorhead State and graduated with a bachelor’s degree. He then began his lifelong career as a farmer in the Lake Park area. He worked at Orton’s in Audubon for 17 years prior to his retirement.

While farming, he acquired many part-time jobs which brought him joy in his life. He cleaned the auditorium and drove the school bus part time for LPA. He was also very active in the Lake Park School, serving as a board member for 20 years, doing the school census, and scoring basketball games for the boys’ basketball team. In 2017, the boys’ basketball team presented him with his very own LPA jacket. He also has his name inscribed on one of the bricks on the LPA honorary wall. When he wasn’t working on the farm or at the school, he enjoyed watching football.

Art is survived by many nieces, nephews, family, and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Berthold and Lena; and brothers, Leon and Marvin.

Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 A.M., Monday, May 23, 2022, at Eskjo Lutheran Church, Lake Park, MN. A graveside service will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo, ND, following the service.
