Bertha J. “Bert” Thompson

Bertha “Bert” Thompson, 79, of Moorhead, MN, passed away on Friday, December 2, 2022, at home under the care of family and Hospice of the Red River Valley. Bert was born November 25, 1943, in Esmond, ND, to Isidor  and Walburga (Schneider) Krenzel. She grew up and attended school in Fargo, ND. On January 20, 1962, Bert married Ronald Thompson. Together they made their home in Moorhead and started a family. Over the years, Bert owned and operated a cleaning service. She enjoyed her Card Club with childhood friends for over 50 years, traveling with Ron and the family, and especially loved watching her children and grandchildren’s sporting events and activities. She will be dearly missed.

Bert is survived by her husband of 60 years, Ronald; son, Donald (Kris DeClerk–Thompson) Thompson; daughter, Rhonda Chambers; grandchildren, Megan, Ryan, Rebecca, Kyle, Hunter, Luke, Taylor, Sean, Evan and Abigail; brothers, Donnie (Laurie) Krenzel, Pat (Bonnie) Krenzel; and sister, Linda (Chuck) Thompson.

She was preceded in death by her son, Ron; parents, Isidor and Walburga; sister, Val; and brother, Marvin.
