Bessie Anderson

Bessie Irene Anderson was born October 31, 1909 to Carl J. and Mary V. Anderson in Hawley, MN. Bessie was baptized and confirmed in Highland Grove Lutheran Church, Hitterdal, MN. She grew up on the family farm and attended country school Dist. 107 and Hawley High School. She enjoyed music lessons, sewing and handwork. When her parents built a new house and farm all in one summer, being the oldest of the children, she was a great help to her folks. She spent her later years in rest homes and retirement homes. When she required more care she was transferred to Viking Manor in Ulen, MN. Bessie is survived by her three sisters, Violet Nelson, Moorhead, Lila Anderson, Ulen Viking Manor and Fern Softing, Fargo. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Albert; and sister, Mabel Johnson.
