Beverly was born September 29, 1929 to parents Otto and Lucille Sandland at the home of her grandparents, Ole and Liv Sandland in Spring Prairie Township. Beverly was the 2nd child of 10 children. Beverly was baptized April 13, 1930 at Zion Lutheran Spring Prairie Township. Later confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Moorhead on May 19, 1946.

Beverly attended school for eight years at Spring Prairie Elementary School, graduating June 30, 1943. She then graduated from Glyndon High School (#1 MN School District) as Valedictorian on June 5, 1947.

As a teenager, Beverly worked summer vacations at Virgie’s Grill, Waterman’s Department Store, and the Fairmont Creamery in the egg drying department during WWII. Every fall she picked potatoes with her dad, as her partner, for Charles Bouton and T.L. Bottom Farms.

On December 7, 1949, Beverly was united in marriage to Maurice “Bud” Anstadt at Glyndon Lutheran Church. Beverly was a member of Glyndon Lutheran Church where she was active in Circle for many years.

Spring Prairie Township and Glyndon were always home to Beverly until 2008 when she and Bud made Moorhead their new home. Beverly remained living in Moorhead until November 2021 when she made the move to St. Catherine’s North Nursing Home in Fargo.

Glyndon was where Beverly and Bud started their family. in 1950, they were blessed with their first son, Michael and raised their six children. Five sons, Michael of Wahpeton, Jeffrey (1951 – 2018), James (Debbie) of Frazee, David (Lynne) of Fargo, Thomas of Fargo; daughter, Melissa (Jason) Amdahl of North Mankato.

Beverly was a homemaker and caretaker all of her adult life. Beverly always made the BEST apple pie (all pies), banana bread, lemon bars, date bars…of course served with a cup of coffee, a glass of milk, or water. No one ever went away hungry or thirsty when you stopped by for a visit at the Anstadt home.

Beverly adored all her grandchildren. Grandma loved singing “You are My Sunshine” softly in their ears as she put them to sleep. While being a homemaker and caretaker, Beverly worked part-time as a Postal Clerk at the Glyndon Post Office alongside her husband. She started working for the USPS in 1965 and retired on September 29, 1989. She celebrated retirement and her birthday on this day.
