Announcing the passing of Damon Brett Fishman, presently of Fargo, ND on the 21st of April, 2026, at Sanford Hospital on Broadway, in Fargo, ND.

Damon Brett Fishman was born at Michael Reese Hospital, Chicago, Illinois, on June 25, 1958, to Ronald Fishman and Sally Mae (Howard) Fishman, second birth, firstborn being his sister, Sally Minka (Fishman) Leeser.

When the children were around three and four years of age, their father went into active duty in the US Army and thus began a wonderful life of moving around and broadening their horizons. Brett and his family lived in Fort Dix, New Jersey, Hokkaido, Japan, Fort Devens, MA, Maryland, Germany and Oklahoma, before moving to Fargo.

Brett made lifelong friends in his graduating class who are mourning his loss even now. He was dubbed “Care Bear” by the alumni and took it upon himself to be just that for a great many years up to his passing.

Brett loved everyone with his big tender heart! He had a wacky sense of humor, and an empathetic soul. He was a profound thinker. He loved WWE wrestling, The Three Stooges, posting on Facebook as Care Bear, and was dearly loved his family and friends. He will be profoundly missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ronald and Sally Mae (Howard) Fishman.

He is survived by nephew, Michael Damon Leeser and his wife and two children; niece, Rebecca Ann (Leeser) Disher and her six children; and his sister, Sally Minka (Fishman) Leeser and a plethora of beloved friends.

Visitation will be Saturday, May 9, from 10:00 - 11:00 AM, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM, in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.
