Bruce David Matson passed away peacefully on June 12, 2026 at the age of 72. He was born on May 7, 1954 and grew up in Moorhead as the eldest of the six children of Vivian and Harlan Matson. He attended Moorhead Tech and went on to a long career working with motorcycles.

In 1980, Bruce married Marcy Kelly and together they raised their two sons. One of the highlights of their time together was fishing and jet-skiing whenever they could get to the lakes. He loved being asked for advice when the boys were making decisions, and especially when the topic involved vehicles. But Bruce’s true passions later in life were his three granddaughters. When the girls were there, he would get home from work in record time. He always had a package of cookies tucked away so he could share with the girls when they visited.

Bruce worked his entire career at Wheels Powersports in Fargo, didn’t ever want to retire and hated to even take vacation days. He appreciated the atmosphere and the opportunity to work with other motorcycle enthusiasts. He had just purchased his 4th motorcycle to add to his collection. Whenever he traveled it was on a motorcycle.

Bruce is survived by his wife, Marcy, sons Jesse and Adam (wife Christy), granddaughters Madyson, Hayley, and Audriana. He is also survived by his sisters Linda Hamm and Brenda Aaser, and brothers Lee and Dale and brother-in-law Mark Jacobson. He was predeceased by his parents, his sister Diana, and brothers-in-law Steve Aaser and Bill Hamm, and stepson Jeremy Kelly.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. with a visitation one hour before the service at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.
