Carol A. Person

Carol A. Person, 82, of Moorhead, MN, passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2022, at Lilac Homes Memory Care, Dilworth, MN.

Carol Ann Korsgarden was born September 23, 1939, in Twin Valley, MN, to Charles Korsgarden and Alvina Christiansen. As a child, Carol moved around spending her early years in Twin Valley, but also exploring Detroit, MI, and Detroit Lakes, MN. She spent most of her adult life between Hawley, Fargo, and Twin Valley.

In 1956 Carol married Robert Burnside and they had two sons, Audie, and Robert Jr. They later divorced and in 1989, Carol found love again and married Gordon Person. They lived in Fargo until 2005 before moving to Twin Valley.

Carol worked in sales and started with Silver Line Boats in Moorhead before joining Weivoda Carpet Sales, in Dilworth. Carol loved her job and was a bulldog when it came to sales. If you tried stealing a customer, you better watch out.

Carol also enjoyed animals, gardening, and baking. She spent countless hours making hundreds of doughnuts for various community activities, bake sales and fundraisers, most often as part of Hawley United Methodist Church. She also loved going to the casino with Gordon and even spent time as a tour guide for Richards Transportation.

Carol is survived by her husband, Gordon; son, Audie (LaVonne) Burnside; stepdaughter, Nancy (Mike) Richards; grandchildren, Ashlee (Niels) Thomson, Karlee (Evan) Cook, Jeff Richards, Jack (Lexi) Richards, Emma Richards, Jordan Johnson (Nicole Pederson); step-grandchildren, Joe Moran, and Jessica Miller; great-grandchildren, Olin, Lucia, Roni, Emmy, Alexis, Damian, and Brynlei; as well as numerous half brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Robert; son, Robert Jr.; stepson, Brett Person; and sisters, Mary, and Joann.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at 2:00 PM with a visitation one hour before the service at Wright Funeral Home, Hawley, MN.

Burial will be in St. Olaf Lutheran Cemetery, Faith, MN.
