Carol Marie Finneseth, age 75, of Lake Park, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2026, at Essentia Health in Fargo, North Dakota.

Carol was born on July 16, 1951, in Grand Forks, North Dakota, to Clarence and Myrtle (Gunderson) Finneseth. She graduated from Central Valley-Buxton-Reynolds High School in 1969.

Early in her career, Carol worked for various hotels before beginning her career at Dakota Hospital in Fargo in 1976. She remained at Dakota Hospital until she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. Carol truly loved her job and the people she worked with, and she always wished she could have continued working longer. Her work was an important and meaningful part of her life.

Carol was so easy to get along with and a true pleasure to be around. She could talk up a storm with anyone and never seemed to run out of things to say. Her friendly, outgoing personality and genuine interest in others made her someone people enjoyed being around. She had a kind and caring nature that made her a joy to know.

Carol always regretted not being able to have children of her own. Even so, she was blessed with many special family members and friends who became an important part of her life. She formed deep and meaningful bonds with those around her and found great love and companionship in her family, friends, and pets.

Carol loved all animals, with a particularly special place in her heart for cats. Her beloved cats, Peaches, Patches, and Cocoa, brought her much love, comfort, and companionship. She also enjoyed painting and sewing, expressing her creativity through these hobbies.

Carol is survived by her loving partner, Carl Gunderson of Lake Park, MN; her brother, Orlin Finneseth of West Fargo, ND; her sisters, Gladys Bommersbach of Detroit Lakes, MN, and Marylin Christianson of Northwood, ND; and her three beloved cats, Peaches, Patches, and Cocoa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Myrtle (Gunderson) Finneseth; and her brother, Thelmer Finneseth of Cumming, ND.

Carol will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her kind heart, outgoing personality, love of animals, creativity, and the special bonds she formed with others will remain cherished memories for all who knew and loved her.
