Carol E. Zielinski

The family of Carol Elaine (Heym) Zielinski, 86, of Vergas, MN and Fargo, ND regrets to announce the passing of this beloved and shining light under the loving care of the staff at Sanford Hospice House.
 
Carol was born April 13, 1937 in Detroit, Michigan, to Gertrude (Lavercombe) and Raymond Heym. She graduated from Western Michigan University with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education in 1959.  

She and her husband, Dave, were united in marriage on April 4, 1964 in Kalamazoo, Michigan, and resided there until they moved to Jackson, Michigan. In 1979, they moved with their two sons to the Fargo-Moorhead area and made their home there while spending summers at Lake Lida, Vergas, MN. 
 
Above all else, Carol valued faith, family, friends, and food. In every setting, she was a positive, passionate, welcoming and impactful force.
 
She is survived by sons Stephen (ZiQi) of Singapore, granddaughter Ava and grandson Ezra, and Marc (Billi) of Moorhead, grandson Aurek and granddaughter Ruby, and sister Beverly (Ron) Barrett.
 
Carol was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Dave. 

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for remembrances, gifts and memorials to be dedicated to Trinity Lutheran Church (Moorhead), Trinity Lutheran Church (Pelican Rapids), Fargo-Moorhead Symphony Orchestra, Sanford Hospice Care, or a charity of your choice. 

Visitation will be Thursday, June 20, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., with prayer service at 7:00 p.m., at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.

Celebration of Life service will be Friday, June 21, at 11:00 a.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church, Moorhead, MN.
