Carolyn Diane Kuehl, 83, of Fergus Falls, Mn formerly Felton, Mn passed away on Saturday, August 30, 2026, at Pioneer Care Center, Fergus Falls, Mn.

Carolyn was born on September 10, 1942, on the family farm in Comstock, Mn, the eighth child to Ralph and Mary (Nellermoe) Ness. She attended grade school in Comstock until joining Barnesville High School where she graduated from in 1960. Carolyn went on to attend Wahpeton State School of Science and earned her Practical Nursing License.

In 1962 Carolyn met the love of her life, Kenneth “Ken” Kuehl at a baseball game and they were married on November 28, 1964. In 1965 Ken and Carolyn purchased a farm near Felton, Mn. They built their house in 1973, where they lived until Ken’s passing in 2023. Carolyn worked as an LPN for St. Luke’s Hospital in Fargo, St Johns Hospital, St. Ansgar Hospital and East 10 Clinic in Moorhead.

Over the years they owned several motor homes and would travel to the lakes (when crops would allow it) and drove down to Arizona/Nevada for several winters. They also loved to travel taking trips to Spain, Africa, Hawaii, Mexico (several times) and the Dutch West Indies, to name a few.

Her love for traveling was only exceeded by her love for family. She loved having all her Grandchildren around her as often as she could. Frequently calling Lori and Troy offering to take the kids for the weekend.

Carolyn is survived by her children, Lori (Jeff) Genz, and Troy (Kristen) Kuehl; grandchildren, Austin Genz and Ryan (Courtney) Genz, and Sydney Kuehl-Colling (Aidan), Sophia (Garret) Frisk, and Jared Kuehl; great-granddaughter, Gwen Colling; siblings, Norma Olsgaard, Darlene Leach, Royal (Shari) Ness, Wallace (Audrey) Ness, Larry (Judy) Ness and Anna Mae Greene and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Ralph and Mary Ness, husband Kenneth, siblings, Marilyn Corneliussen, James (Jim) Ness; in-laws, Ted Olsgaard, Lee Greene, Roger Corneliussen and Jan Ness.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at 11 a.m. with a visitation one hour before the service at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Felton, MN.

Burial will be in Felton Cemetery.
