Christopher William Baker, 47, of Moorhead, MN passed away at his home on August 2, 2026. Chris was born June 27, 1979, in Lakewood, NJ to Kenneth “Kenny” and Cynthia “Cindy” Baker. He moved with his parents to Baudette, MN when he was going into 7th grade.

As a young child Chris was a huge flirt. With his blond hair and blue eyes, all the ladies would stop to talk to them and exclaim over him. He would get very excited on Christmas and would wake up really early at like 1:00 AM to go look at the presents before going to wake up Charlotte. Then the both of them would go wake up their parents who would make them go back to sleep for a few hours before they could get up to open presents.

As an older child and the younger sibling, Chris idolized his sister Charlotte! He would follow her around and imitate her. As usual for the older sibling, it drove Charlotte nuts! When asked what Chris was like as a child, without hesitation Charlotte exclaimed “He was a brat!” She also went on to talk about how he was a very good brother and protective of her as well.

Chris received an Associate Degree in Auto Body from Minnesota State Community and Technical College Detroit Lakes in 2008, and has worked as a welder for Haugen Enterprises for the last several years at a job he enjoyed and made several lasting friendships.

Chris was always a very hard worker both at work and at home. He was often engaged in DIY home improvement projects and always did his own car repairs. When Chris wasn’t working, he took the most pleasure from simply spending time with his fiancée Kristina “Tina” and their family and friends. They often spent their time relaxing/grilling in their backyard, or out on the lake with their pontoon.

Chris’s most memorable trait was his kindness. He considered everyone a friend the moment he met them until they proved they weren’t and would literally give a stranger the shirt off his back if they needed it more than he did. He loved his family fiercely and if you hurt one of his loved ones, you had an enemy for life.

Chris is survived by his fiancée, Kristina Lambert; daughter, Kristin (Brock DeBilzan) Cheney; sons, Justin Baker, Xander Baker; step-daughters, Emily Lambert, Avery Lambert; step-son, Brayden Lambert; grandson, Maverick DeBilzan; granddaughter, Blakely DeBilzan; parents, Kenneth and Cynthia Baker; sister, Charlotte (Jimmy) Hughes; and dogs, Theo and Rosie.

A celebration of Chris’s life will be held on Friday, August 21, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. with a visitation one hour before the service at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.
