Christopher Eldon “Chris” Gregg

Christopher “Chris” Eldon Gregg, 52, of Hinesville, GA, passed away on April 15, 2021, in Sanford Health Hospital, Fargo, ND.

Chris was born on September 13, 1968, in Colorado Springs, CO, to William and Virginia (Paulson) Gregg. His family moved to Hawley, MN, in 1972, where he was raised and graduated from Hawley High School. He enlisted into the United States Army where he served his country for over 20 years. During that time, he was united in marriage to Kelly McElheney on May 5, 1994, in Colorado Springs, CO. He was stationed in Fort Stewart, GA, until his retirement in 2008. He began his career in law enforcement in Hinesville, GA, and retired in 2016.

Chris loved working on cars as a hobby and fixing things around the house. He also enjoyed jigsaw and crossword puzzles and loved working in his yard and gardening. He was truly a kind and genuine soul who would give the shirt off his back to anyone who needed it. He will be sorely missed by all his friends and family.

Chris is survived by his loving wife, Kelly Gregg; children, Matthew (Leslie Riddle) McElheney, Richard McElheney, Victoria (Erik Alejandre) McElheney-Gregg, and DaLainey McElheney-Gregg; grandchild, Analia Forest; siblings, Michael Gregg and Shannon (Michael) Vigesaa; beloved pets, Tinkerbell and Shylow; and many other loving relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Virginia; and brother, Robert Gregg.
