Clair O. Haugen

Clair Oliver Haugen was born April 11, 1935, near Henning, Minn. He graduated from Fergus Falls High School in 1953; earned his Bachelor's from Concordia College, Moorhead and his Master's and Doctorate from University of Wisconsin – Madison. He taught his entire career at Concordia College in the Speech Communications Theater Arts Department, retiring in 1997. In retirement he worked as a researcher, historian and writer. In 1959, he married Mary Jane Jacobson. He is survived by their five children, Matt Barbara, Custer, SD; Leif Maria, Lexington, KY; Laura Haugen Christensen, Moorhead; Elizabeth Brett Feldman, Minneapolis; Ben Kathryn, Parker, CO. He is also survived by his sister, Lucille Melvin Johnson, Moorhead, six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Agnes Monson Haugen and sister Vera Rutten.
