Claudia Jean Lontz

Claudia Jean Lontz, 79, of Fargo, ND, passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at The Meadows on University, Fargo, ND.

Claudia was born on December 17, 1945, in Fargo, ND, to Donald and Roberta (Miller) Lontz. She graduated from Moorhead High School in 1963 and went on to obtain a degree in English from Moorhead State Teachers College. She then started her career at American Crystal Sugar, working first as a statistician and eventually moving into management in quality control.

Claudia married Ron England in 1986, and they made their home first in Grand Forks, ND, and later in Golden, CO and Scottsbluff, NE. While in Grand Forks and Colorado, Claudia worked briefly in real estate. After Ron passed away in 2014, Claudia moved back to Fargo to be closer to family.

Claudia enjoyed keeping herself busy with many artistic projects including ceramics, building and decorating birdhouses, and creating wreaths and swags for the holidays. She could often be found in the aisles of Michael’s craft stores, planning her next project. Family members and friends were often blessed with her handcrafted items as gifts.

Claudia is survived by her daughter, Cathy Ayers, of Fargo, ND; her step-daughters, Roxane England and Suzanne (Jerry) Stricker; her siblings, David (Deb) Lontz, Steven (Meg) Lontz and Cathy (Dean) Mollerud; grandchildren, Hunter Ayers, Heather McElroy, RJ Hanna, Tyler Hanna, Trish Hanna, Raleigh England, Jordan Stricker and Jared Stricker, and 5 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ron England and her sister, Shirley Lontz.

The family will hold a private service at a later date.
