Corliss "Cory" A. Noel

In loving memory….

Corliss Ann (Aldrich) Noel, age 78, entered into eternal life on May 1, 2024 at her home in Hawley, MN. Cory was born December 31, 1945 in Moorhead, MN to Charlotte (Hanson) and Robert Aldrich. She was the oldest of three, being followed by her sister Marilyn and her brother Bob.  After graduating from Hawley High School in 1963, she attended New York Hair Dressing Academy in Fargo, ND.   Upon completion of that program, she took a job at a salon in Mayville, ND.  While in Mayville, her path crossed frequently with Jerome Noel, who was working at Tony's market and attending Mayville State University for business education.  They married on July 1, 1966, after a two-year courtship.  Jerry and Cory spent the next 58 years by each other's side.
 

In August of 1967, they took up residence at the “teacherage” in, Badger MN.  Here they started a family and by October of 1970 they had three kids under three years of age. They moved to Halstad, MN in 1970 where she opened Cory's Beauty Shop in the basement of their home. After some time, she decided to try a new venture in Halstad, Fifth Street Floral, where she sold floral arrangements, as well as crafts and ceramics that she and Jerry made.

Close to retirement, they purchased a home on Duck Lake outside of Park Rapids, MN. Not much could draw Cory away from this little refuge. Cory and Jerry put their heart and soul into this cabin. Many extra special years were spent there. If the grandkids were expected to arrive, everything stopped and all energy centered around them.  EVERY arrival to the lake was greeted with some new way she had planned to make the visit extra special and extra beautiful for her grandkids. In June of 2011, Cory and Jerry started spending their winters in Arizona and their summers in Hawley near their children.

Cory was a woman of many talents, having a knack for making things beautiful.  She was a beautician, a florist, an artist, a decorator, and an entrepreneur.  She had a true passion for gardening and spent hours in her beautiful and elaborate backyard garden which became a lovely place to gather with family and friends or just sit with her beloved husband, Jerry.  She was a true nurturer, giving generously of her time and talents to those she loved and those in need.

She is survived by her husband, Jerome Noel, Hawley, MN; children, Roy (Deb) Noel, Audubon, MN, Carla Noel, East Grand Forks, MN, Lisa (Michael) Kirsch, Hawley, MN; grandchildren, Elijah Noel, Duluth, MN, Caleb Noel, Tucson, AZ, Ezekiel Noel, Justin Conrad, Mckailee Kirsch and Kaden Kirsch; siblings Marilyn Braford, and Robert Aldrich Jr.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlotte and Robert Aldrich; in-laws Henry, Marie and Leonard Noel; grandson, Gabriel Noel; sister-in-law, Yvonne Noel; and niece Cindy Pejsa.

We are grateful for all the love, support, and friendship she received these past few years and throughout her life.
