Curtis E. Askelson

Curtis E. “Curt” Askelson, 82, of Glyndon, MN, passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at Sanford Medical Center, Fargo, ND.

Curtis Eugene Askelson was born to Junior and Ovedia (Skiem) Askelson on December 24, 1940, in Hitterdal, MN. He grew up in Twin Valley and graduated from Gary High School. In 1963 Curt enlisted in the United States Army and served in Germany. After his discharge, Curt went to work for Silver Line, Inc. in Moorhead where he spent 20 years. He then took a position with Alloway Manufacturing in Fargo for a number of years before retiring. On January 9, 1970, Curt married Beverly Hill in Gary, MN.

Curt enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with family on Lake Ida in Minnesota.

Curt is survived by his wife, Beverly; son, James (Jenny), Glyndon; grandsons, Zack (Nelly Straub), Idaho, and Tyler, Glyndon; sister, DeVaughn Hanson; and several nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ronald; and sister, Joyce.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 10, 2023, at 11:00 AM with a visitation one hour before the service at Wright Funeral Home, Hawley, MN.

Burial will be in Gary Lutheran Cemetery at a later date.
