Cynthia Cherise Miller

Cynthia Cherise Miller, known as Cyndi to many, passed away with family by her side on September 9th, 2023, after a brave battle with stage IV glioblastoma, an aggressive brain cancer. On May 17th, 2023, at the young age of 56, Cyndi received the disheartening news that she had a brain tumor. She remained positive and optimistic, despite the unsettling odds of what the future would hold.

Cyndi was born on February 25, 1967, in Aberdeen, South Dakota, to her parents, Marilyn and Calvin Wolff. Cyndi was the cherished sister of Cameron Wolff and Cristin Dlugosh.

Cyndi's early years were spent in Aberdeen, South Dakota. Followed by moving to Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where Cyndi started her senior year of high school. After high school, Cyndi pursued her Bachelor of Science in Business Management at the University of South Dakota.

In her personal life, Cyndi was deeply committed to her family. She shared her life with her beloved spouse, James Miller, and together, they raised three wonderful children: Ciara Schmidt, Spenser Miller, and Savana Miller. She also deeply cherished her role as a grandmother to Canyon Schmidt and Everest Schmidt.

Cyndi’s battle with cancer began in 2014. She triumphed over acute myeloid leukemia thanks to her brother being a perfect match for a stem cell transplant. Cyndi spent nine years in remission before her diagnosis in 2023 with glioblastoma.

Professionally, Cyndi dedicated 27 years of her life in sales, as an Account Executive, at KVRR Fox TV in Fargo, North Dakota. Her passion for her work was evident to all who knew her, and she was admired for her remarkable drive and determination.

Cyndi was a woman of diverse interests and hobbies. She adored traveling and going on cruises, with Las Vegas being a favorite destination where she enjoyed attending shows with her husband, James. She treasured spending time with her family, attending her grandkids' activities, going for long walks, and shopping. Cyndi had a love for football, particularly cheering for the Vikings. Her music taste was eclectic, with a special fondness for Pink and anything from the 80s. She found joy in the company of her two cats, Puma and Callie, and treasured visits with her family in Sioux Falls. Cyndi was also known for her unwavering enthusiasm for holidays and birthdays, ensuring that no family celebration went without a birthday cake.

Cyndi's life was one filled with love, laughter, and lively spirit. She touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She is survived by her husband, James Miller; children, Ciara Schmidt, Spenser (Xylina) Miller, and Savana Miller; grandchildren, Canyon and Everest Schmidt; parents, Marilyn and Calvin Wolff; brother, Cameron (Amy) Wolff; sister, Cristin (Trent) Dlugosh; sisters and brothers-in-law, Deborah (Mark) Wasemiller, John Miller, Paul Douglas Miller, Jean (Marc) Stratton, Caroline (John) Scofield, Julie (Dave) Lutman, Timothy Miller, Michael Miller, a host of nieces and nephews, and extended family and friends.
