Dallas Wesley Knodel

Dallas Wesley Knodel, 83, of Dilworth, MN, passed away on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at Villa Maria Nursing Home, Fargo, ND.

Dallas was born on August 9, 1937, to Gust and Kathryn (Schatz) Knodel, in Chaseley, ND. He was raised and worked on the family farm in rural Fessenden, ND, until 1965 when he moved to Dilworth, MN. He was united in marriage to Geraldine Mae Reimche on May 14^th, 1966, and they were married for 55 years. He began his construction career at FM Asphalt where he worked for nearly 40 years. He finished his career working for Loren Richards Trucking until his retirement at 79 years old.

Dallas loved his pets and enjoyed outdoor activities such as driving around the countryside in his pickup truck, driving his 4-wheeler, tractors, mowing, snowmobiling, and fixing things. The highlight of his week was going out to eat on Saturday nights. He was especially proud of his two children and two grandchildren.

Dallas is survived by his beloved wife, Geraldine; sons, Myron (Doreen) Knodel and Mike Knodel; grandchildren, Sarah and Jacob Knodel; and sisters, Betty Hirschkorn and DeLila Hirsch. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gust and Kathryn.

Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M on Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN. Visitation will continue from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M., followed by the memorial service at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, July 7, 2021, at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN. A livestream of the service will be available on Dallas’ webpage at www.wrightfuneral.com where a guestbook and video tribute may also be found. Final resting place will be at Riverside Cemetery, Glyndon, MN.

In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to Hospice of the Red River Valley.
