Donald “Skip” Anderson, 82 of Osage, MN, formerly of Fargo, ND, passed away on Sunday, February 20, 2022, at home under the care of family and Hospice of the Red River Valley. Skip was born August 14, 1939, to Joseph and Ethel (Moe) Anderson. He grew up and attended school in Perley, MN, before enlisting in the U.S. Air Force. After his honorable discharge in 1960, Skip returned to the area and live in Fargo, where he served on the Fargo Police Department. On April 19, 1963, Skip married Patrice “Trecie” Tufton in Kragnes, MN. Together they made their home in Fargo and started a family. Skip worked as a mechanic at Cordell Motors in Moorhead, as a gunsmith at Al’s Sports Shop and then as a Federal Technician for the North Dakota Air National Guard until retiring in 1993. In retirement, Skip and Patrice moved to a home that Skip built on Toad Lake, near Osage, MN. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and woodworking. He will be greatly missed.
Skip is survived by his children, Kim (Robert) Scheidecker, Fargo, ND, Kori (Terry) Babb, Hawthorn Woods, IL, and Joe (Roxie) Anderson, Fargo, ND; grandchildren, Courtney (Dave) Carpenter, Tanner Scheidecker, Sydney Scheidecker, Reece Anderson, Grady Anderson, Lauren Babb and Kati Babb; great-grandchildren, Abel and Greyson Carpenter; sisters, Alice Dosland, Irene Mathison, Carol (DuWayne) Lydeen, Gladys (Allen) Richards, Marlys Guttormson; and brother-in-law, Tommy Todd.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patrice; sisters, Darlene Todd, Diann Renshaw, Linda Magnuson; brother, Leroy Anderson (in infancy); sister-in-law, Marilyn Kluck; and brothers-in-law, Thor Dosland, Richard Mathison, Larry Renshaw, Andy Guttormson, and Carrol Kluck.
Visitation will be Saturday, February 26, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m., in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.
Interment will be at Kirkebo Lutheran Cemetery, Perley, MN.
