Donald L. Gustafson

Don was born August 17, 1940, in Rolla, ND, to Leonard and Malvine Delbeke Gustafson. He attended St. John Public School and graduated in 1958. After high school he continued his education at the School of Forestry in Bottineau, ND. He then entered the U.S. Air Force and served from 1959 – 1963. In 1964, he married Sandy Matson in Rolla, and later divorced. Don was a man with many interests. While in the service he acquired much of his training and education that served him well. His skills and knowledge in electrical engineering provided him with his occupation with Northwestern Bell. After retiring, Don had his own consulting business. He liked working and improving electronic parts and components, and was an avid collector. He also enjoyed his morning walks around his neighborhood, searching family genealogy, and most recently enjoyed keeping up with the oil prospects at the original Gustafson homestead in Bottineau County. Don is survived by his children, Shireen Jason Stone, Stephanie Ben Corwin, James Alanna; grandchildren, Avery and Parker; brothers, Vernon and LeRoy; sisters, Doreen, Deanna, Judy and Dorothy; and numerous nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his brothers, Lawrence, Bernard and Leo.Memorials preferred to St. Joseph's Catholic School, Moorhead, MN.
