Donald A. Wirries

Donald Wirries was born in Ohio and peacefully passed away at age 92 in his Texas home on March 11, 2022. He lost his beloved wife of 50+ years in 2018. He enjoyed playing cards, golfing, fishing and flying. He was a lawyer, pilot, and an Associate Professor at MSUM, where students still remember his Business Law classes. He was deeply religious and served a variety of functions at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church including a cantor with a deep bass voice, and as a winter Texan he enjoyed various activities at the Basilica.

He is survived by his children, Lynn (Rory) Krogen, Bryan Wirries, Beatrice Streitz, Conrad (Shokoufeh) Wirries, and John (Tracey) Wirries; 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Friday, March 25, 2022, from 5-7 PM with a prayer service beginning at 7:00 at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at 2:00 PM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Moorhead, MN.
