Dorothy Kuehl

Dorothy L. Kuehl, 84 of Moorhead, MN passed away on Friday, March 15, 2024, at Essentia Health, Fargo, ND.

Dorothy Leona Getz was born on September 18, 1939, to Oswald and Marilyn (Poppel) Getz in Barnesville, MN. She grew up and graduated from Barnesville High School in 1957.

Dorothy married Jerome Kuehl on January 9, 1959, in Sabin, MN. She worked many years on the production line for Silverline Boats in Moorhead and later in Food Service at Moorhead State University. She and Jerome, before his illness, found time to travel in their motorhome to Florida in the winter months. Dorothy found satisfaction in working hard and never finding an idle moment. It was evident in the beauty of her yard and flower gardens. She maintained an immaculate home and spotless car. Her method of rest was to watch a sunset at the lake or by feeding the birds.

Dorothy is survived by her daughters, June Gallery, Palm Harbor, FL, and Joann (Bryan) Bishop, Glendale, AZ; siblings, Donna Mae Askegaard, Carol Leske, and Dennis (Jane) Getz; brothers-in-law, Alden Brendemuhl, Marvin (Beverly) Kuehl, and Donald Kuehl; sister-in-law, Beverly Edenborg; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerome; step-father, Arthur Blilie; sister, Diana Brendemuhl; brothers-in-law, Charles Askegaard, and Helmuth Leske, and numerous in-laws.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024, from 12-1 pm followed by the funeral service at 1:00 pm at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.

Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Sabin, MN.
