Earl D. Holland, 91, of Moorhead, formerly of Halstad, MN, passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, in Sanford Medical Center, Fargo, ND. Earl was born March 6, 1934, on the family farm in Halstad, MN, to Ludvig and Norah (Enger) Holland. Earl graduated from Halstad High School and continued his education at Interstate Business College in Fargo, ND. In 1954, Earl and two of his brothers, Lowell and Ames, shared ownership of the Standard Oil Station in Halstad. He served in the United States Army for two years from 1957-59. Upon returning to Halstad, he rejoined his brothers at the station. The Holland brothers bought the local Hardware Store in 1965, renaming it Holland Hardware.

Earl married Kathy Jetvig in 1969, and together they made their home in Halstad, raising three children. In 1993, Earl and Kathy became the sole owners of the hardware store, retiring in 1998. He always enjoyed helping the customers and community members with their needs. Over the years, Earl joyfully kept busy with the family business, tending their large garden, attending family activities and local church dinners with friends. Earl loved to socialize, meet new people, and he connected with anyone he talked to. He loved life and the people he shared it with, especially his community, friends, and most of all family. Earl will be dearly missed.

Earl is survived by his loving wife Kathy; children, Laurie (Tim) Wollenzien of Moorhead, MN, Scott (Kristy) Jetvig of Hawley, MN, and Denise (Mark) Woodcock of White Bear Lake, MN; grandchildren, Margaret Wollenzien, Hannah (Jordan Stamp) Wollenzien, Candace (Kevin) Perry, Emily Jetvig and Ashley Jetvig, Mitchell Woodcock, Adam Woodcock and Charlie Woodcock; great-grandchildren, Donovan, Lila and Aidan Perry; and his brother, Vernon Holland.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Lowell, Neal, and Ames Holland.

Visitation will be Saturday, January 17, from 3:00 - 5:00 PM, followed by a prayer service at 5:00 PM, in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN. 

Visitation will continue Tuesday, January 20, from 1:00 - 2:00 PM, followed by the memorial service at 2:00 PM at The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Moorhead, MN.

Interment will take place at Augustana Lutheran Church Cemetery, rural Halstad, MN, at a later date.
