Elaine Nordick, 91, of Moorhead, MN, died on Monday, May 4, 2026, at Eventide on 8th, Moorhead, MN.
Elaine Rosella Nordick was born October 13, 1934, in Breckenridge MN to Peter and Ella (Foertsch) Krump. She attended St. France Academy in Hankinson, ND and graduated from Breckenridge High School in 1952. On July 8, 1952, she married Louis Nordick and they made their home in various rural Minnesota communities including Kent, Breckenridge, Rothsay, finally moving to Moorhead in 1980. They were blessed with 8 children.
Elaine was a "domestic engineer" most of her life. She was the behind-the-scenes person who made everything flow. She worked in the office at Red River Trails Bus company for the 5 years they co-owned it.
Elaine enjoyed reading, gardening, canning, knitting, crocheting, bingo, volunteering, sports and baking. She was known for her homemade cinnamon & caramel rolls, rhubarb pie as well as her big family dinners at the holidays. At Eventide she was known as the cookie lady because she shared her fresh baked sugar cookies. She enjoyed seeing her grandkids and great grandkids. She loved to travel in her younger years visiting Hong Kong, Hawaii, New Zealand, Germany, Austria and England.
Elaine is survived by her children, Jeff (Lynette Starin) Nordick, Erhard, MN, Rick Nordick, Elizabeth, MN, Sandy Nordick, Park Rapids, MN, Grant (Karen Moore) Nordick, East Gosford, Australia, Sally (Jim) Wagner, Fargo, ND, Kay (Dale Stoll) Carlsrud, San Tan Valley, AZ, Randy "Bud" (Kathy) Nordick, Rothsay, MN; 18 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; siblings, Illa Able, Meg Parmer, Lee "Tiger" Krump, LaVonne Altoff; and stepsister, Janice Lehrke.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Louie; son, Bradley; granddaughter, Lahra Peterson; Nordick twin great granddaughters; 8 sisters, 5 brothers and a stepbrother.
Visitation will be Monday, May 18, from 6:00 - 7:30 PM, followed by a prayer service at 7:30 PM, in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, May 19, at 10:00 AM in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Moorhead, MN.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, May 19, at 11:00 AM, in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Moorhead, MN.
Interment will be held at a later date at St. Elizbeth Cemetery, Elizabeth, MN.
Memorials may be made out to Ethos Hospice, Fargo, ND, or St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Elizabeth, MN.
