Elizabeth Montgomery

Elizabeth Ellen (Collins) Montgomery, 78, of Detroit Lakes, MN, passed away on Thursday, June 15, 2023, at Sanford on Broadway, Fargo, ND.

Elizabeth was born on February 26, 1945, to Jack and Carol Collins in Washington. She grew up in the Twin Cities and graduated from Roosevelt High School in Minneapolis, MN. She graduated from the University of Minnesota with a bachelor's degree in in education. After graduating, she taught elementary school in Bloomington, MN, for a brief time prior to moving to Grand Forks, ND. She taught at Crestwood Elementary School in East Grand Forks for nearly 30 years until retirement. During that time, she was united in marriage to Paul Montgomery in 1985. 

After her retirement, Elizabeth and Paul moved to Detroit Lakes, MN. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, and helping Paul with his bean brokerage business, P.W. Montgomery, Inc. 

Elizabeth is survived by her loving husband, Paul Montgomery; children, David (Sarah) Lien and Travis Lien; step-children, Jeff Montgomery and Kevin Montgomery; grandchildren, Anna, James, and Mia Lien; brother, Richard Collins; and many other loving relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Carol Collins of Richfield, MN.
