Elsie J. Foss

Elsie Foss, 85, Fargo, ND, died on Wednesday, December 15, 2021, in her home.
Elsie Jane (Moilanen) Foss was born on March 9, 1936, on the home farm near Brocket, ND, to John and Ida (Kangas) Moilanen. She attended grade school at Pelto, ND, and graduated from high school in Devils Lake, ND, in 1954.
Elsie was employed as a bookkeeper at Ramsey Motor Car dealership. On March 28, 1958, she married Edwin D. Foss in Devils Lake, ND. They moved to Moorhead, MN, where Ed and Jim Camrud formed Camrud-Foss Construction Company. Elsie worked as a bookkeeper for Hustad-Kelly car dealership. In 1960 their first child, Brian, was born and Elsie became a stay-at-home mother. Their second child, Vera, was born in 1964.
Elsie enjoyed keeping in touch with family and friends, being active in church, gardening, doing volunteer work and spoiling the animals at their daughter and son-in-law’s hobby farm near Horace, ND.
She is survived by her husband Ed; and daughter Vera (Jim) Neiman. Elsie was preceded in death by her parents; infant brother Clarence; brother Harvey and his wife Rose; and son Brian.
The funeral will be on Monday, December 20, 2021, at 11:00 A.M. in The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Moorhead, MN. Visitation will be one hour before the service in the church.
Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Fargo, ND.
