Esther C. Gray

Esther Gray, 94, Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead, MN, died on March 26, 2004, in the nursing home.Esther C. Simonson was born on October 12, 1909, near Kragnes, MN, to John and Emma Nordquist Simonson. She grew up there and attended rural school at Oakmound school. Esther married Ray Hohnadel on November 25, 1929. They made their home at Georgetown, MN, until retiring on Cotton Lake, near Detroit Lakes, MN. Ray died on November 25, 1969. Esther worked for Bergen's Floral in Detroit Lakes, MN, for several years. She married Harold Gray and they lived at Little Floyd lake near Detroit Lakes. Esther loved flower gardening, fishing, hunting and dancing.She is survived by one son, James Bessie Hohnadel, Casselton, ND; two sisters, Nettie Salvhus, Riemer, MN, and Betty Orlin Enerson, Fargo, ND; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Mary Hohnadel, Hawley, MN. She was preceded in death by her husband Ray, son Mike Hohnadel, and five siblings, Clarence Simonson, Edwin Simonson, Liela Gee, Bennie Simonson and Clifford Simonson.
