Gail was born in Fargo, ND September 30, 1936. She spent most of her summers on Lake Melissa in Detroit Lakes with her grandparents. She graduated from Missoula Community High School, Missoula, MT. Gail moved many times growing up and attended the University of Nebraska Omaha where she met her future husband, Frank. She worked at Mutual of Omaha and then transitioned to a flight attendant for Northwest Airlines in Minneapolis.

After marrying Frank they landed in Red Oak, IA where she was a bank teller for Montgomery County National Bank for several years. Gail was heavily involved with Jaycee Janes, a bridge club with her close friends, delivered meals on wheels, and was also active in the Red Oak Country Club. She spent many weekends with family and friends at the Rock Quarry and partied with friends at Lake Okoboji.

Gail and Frank purchased a lake cottage over the phone on Fern Beach, Lake Melissa in 1975, that was once owned by her Aunt Marion and Uncle Herald Erpelding. When Frank retired, they designed their forever home, and it was built by Bruce Seim and Frank Hanson on that cottage spot. She and Frank traveled with the NDSU Bison Wrestling Team for many years and built lifelong friendships.

Gail assisted Ilene Maloney with her screen printing business run out of Ilene’s garage. She was a beach captain and Lakeview Township Supervisor for many years and knew all the people and properties around the lakes. She enjoyed entertaining at home and on the pontoon, going to the casino with friend, Aggie and inviting friends to the annual Christmas Eve margy party. She made many lifelong friends at the lake that she cherished.

Gail is survived by daughters Tracy and Jamie (Brent Johnson), son Frankie, grandsons Jake Robbins and Jason Cluckey, great grandchildren Evelyn Robbins, Ryder and Raya Wright, brothers Jim (Jeannie), Pat (Kris) and Mike (Brenda) Christensen and David Cluckey and family. She was a pistol and loved her family and friends and loved living at the lake, she was a true lake girl.

A celebration of Gail's life will be held at a later date.
