Gerald (Gary) Paulson, 87, Moorhead, MN, passed away peacefully Tuesday, October 24, 2023 under the care of Eventide staff and Ethos Hospice, at Eventide on Eighth, Moorhead.
Gary was born on August 16, 1936, in Menahga, MN, to John Lester and Mabel (Kimball) Paulson. he was the youngest of three children.
Gary attended school in Menahga, MN until 1953 when the family moved to Moorhead, MN, where he attended his senior year and graduated from Dilworth in 1954.
Gary began his career at National Foods in Moorhead, and later went to work for Kmart stores. Anyone who was to the Kmart store on University Drive in South Fargo has probably heard his “You have to push the door when I ring the buzzer” coming from the back of the store. He retired from Kmart in 1995.
Gary had a great love for woodworking. He spent many hours in his work room in the basement.
Gary will mostly be remembered for his love of people. Everywhere he went he found someone to visit with, right up to the end. He would light up when the staff at Eventide would stop to say hi, or a visitor would come to see him. He deeply loved his children, grandchildren, and his grand dog Molly.
