Gerald Alan Krabbenhoft passed away on July 29, 2023, at Serenity Assisted Living (Dilworth MN) after a short illness.
Jerry was born March 10, 1940, at St. Lukes Hospital, Fargo, ND to Arnold and Dorothy (Lobitz) Krabbenhoft. He grew up around the Sabin, MN area and went to District #9 grade school and also Sabin School. He graduated from Glyndon High School in 1958. As a young man, he helped his dad on the family farm until 1961. He joined the ND Air National Guard in 1960 and was honorably discharged in 1966. He held various jobs until 1967 when he went to work as a Brand Inspector for the ND Stockman’s Association. He later was employed by Gamble Robinson/Food Services of America as a salesman until 2005 when he retired.
In 1968, he married Barbara Luthi (Larson) at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Moorhead, MN. They have one daughter, Stephanie Luthi-Terry (Paul Terry). Jerry loved hunting, fishing and playing/singing classic country music. Jerry played music with the Valley Playboys band for 50 years. Entertaining people and playing classic country music was one of the greatest joys in his life.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Barbara of 55 years; daughter, Stephanie Luthi-Terry (Paul Terry) of Chaska, MN; granddaughters, Stephanie Marie Terry of Eden Prairie, MN; Elizabeth (Daniel) Burwell of Golden Valley, MN; brother, Thomas (Mary) of Detroit Lakes, MN; great-granddaughter, Charley Burwell, and many nephews, nieces and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, a nephew, grandparents, and many aunts and uncles.
In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to the American Cancer Society.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, from 1-2 PM followed by a memorial service with Livestream at 2:00 at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead.
