IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Gereldene "Jean"
Tollerud
May 14, 1931 – November 28, 2025
Gereldene (Jean) Irene Tollerud passed peacefully from this world into to the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on November 28, 2025.
Jean (a nickname her father bestowed upon her) was born on May 14, 1931, at home on the farm in Anthony Township, Norman County, Minnesota, to Lavi and Bertha (Baumgarten) Brueshoff. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church which established her foundation in the Christian faith that would sustain her throughout her life.
As the third child of six (two brothers and three sisters), she was right in the middle of all the excitement six kids can create. Her first years of education began in a rural one-room schoolhouse but eventually concluded in the Ada public school system.
Life on the family farm was filled with love and caring but also included plenty of chores to be done to make the farm successful. Her role to play in this was to help her mother with the household duties. The lessons she would learn from this taught her many skills that would eventually make her a wonderful wife and mother.
The work ethic Jean learned on the farm was ever present, starting in her early teens as a live in housekeeper/babysitter for neighbors. As a stay-at-home mom, she operated a daycare in her home, which blessed her with the opportunity to provide love and guidance to those young ones entrusted to her care. Jean was never one to sit still for very long, keeping her home immaculate was a true labor of love for her. Even in her nineties, no dust bunny was safe from her pursuit.
Her greatest pleasure in life was her family. She loved hearing about great achievements or just everyday living whenever a visit or a call was made. She will be so dearly missed by all those who loved her.
Above all else, Jean could be defined by her love for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. This was instilled in her at a young age by following the examples set by her parents growing up. Daily devotions and Bible scripture was her start to everyday and gave her strength knowing God was always by her side. Gospel music was her constant companion when alone, and the family's prayer warrior whenever needed. Jean was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Moorhead, MN since 1959.
Jean's journey to heaven is the answer to her prayers, knowing that her husband Glenn and daughter Debbie would be there to take her by the hands and rejoice with Jesus in their heavenly reunion.
