Grace Abumere Omokhuale

Grace Abumere Omokhuale, 77, of Moorhead, MN, passed away on Wednesday, May 26, 2021, in Meadowlane Nursing Home, Benson, MN. Grace was born on September 1, 1943, in Amedokhian, Uromi. She was raised by her mother and stepfather, Ayekegbe Ukeke, until the age of 16 when she married her sweetheart, Omoriawo Omokhuale, on December 10, 1959. She was widowed at the young age of 20 and devoted her life to raising her two children and eleven grandchildren.

Grace enjoyed Esan cultural dances and often danced whenever she was opportuned. She was proficient in knitting, crocheting, and hairbraiding. Grace spoke several different languages during her lifetime. She was a great cook, and her grandchildren remember her black soup garnished with delicious snails.

Grace was a believer in the Lord, Jesus Christ. She went to church every Sunday and was involved in the things of God. Grace taught her children and grandchildren to give and show God’s love to people. Grace was also an evangelist and won souls to the Lord.

Grace is survived by her two children, Augustine Omokhuale and Patience Ehimen; 11 grandchildren, Love (Kingsley) Okojie, Emmanuel (Amy) Ehimen, Miracle (Promise) Ehimen, Onolunosen (Ambimbola) Esuruoso, Endurance (Francis Eichie) Ehimen, Ejemeirele Omokhuale, Obehioye Omokhuale, Promise Ehimen, Augustine Omokhuale, Jr., Odianosen Omokhuale, and God’sFavour Ehimen; 5 great-grandchildren, Courage Daranijo, Fulfillment Ehimen, Gabriel Okojie, Zoey Ehimen, and Michael Ehimen; brothers, Joseph, Alfred Ukeke; and many more family to come.

Grace was known for her love and care towards both her biological and non-biological grandchildren. Grace’s presence will be greatly missed by all who knew her as a sister, mother, grandmother, and friend.

Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., followed by the prayer service at 7:00 P.M., Friday, June 18, 2021, at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN. Visitation will continue from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, June 19, 2021, at The Summit Church, West Fargo, ND. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo, ND, following the service.
