Harley Lee Banks, 83, of Fargo, ND, passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2022, at Sanford on Broadway, Fargo, ND.
Harley was born on October 26, 1939, to Fredrick and Thelma (Heald) Banks in Hurdsfield, ND. He grew up in Hurdsfield where he attended and graduated from Hurdsfield High. He then joined the United States Navy, serving his country for nearly 20 years. After his military service, he moved to San Francisco for a period of time prior to moving to Fargo, ND. He worked as a maintenance man for Goldmark until his retirement.
Harley enjoyed John Wayne and Clint Eastwood Movies and various tv shows, especially Gunsmoke. He also loved sports, specifically baseball and was a big San Francisco Giants fan. He would often tag along with his brother-in-law, Bill Barone, during his many rummage sale expeditions. Harley was a devoted uncle and a will be sorely missed by his loving family.
Harley is survived by his nephew, Steve (Sheri) Barone and their kids, Adam (Lana) Barone and Sara (Kristian Lien) Barone; nephew, Ronnie Banks and his family; nephew, Bruce Banks and his family; and many other loving relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Fredrick and Thelma; and siblings, Delfred (Helen) Banks, Loren “Bud” Banks, Norman (Nancy) Banks, and Marilyn (Bill) Barone.
Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, November 10, 2022, at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN. Burial will be at Fargo National Cemetery following the service.
